James Belange promoted to CEO
by Compass Commercial Construction Group
Compass Construction has announced the promotion of James Belange to the position of CEO. In this new capacity, Belange will oversee the development, alignment and communication of the vision and strategy of the company and will be the face of the company to clients, the community, and the industry.
Belange joined Compass in 2017 as Partner and Project Executive. He was named COO in 2019 and President in 2021. A 1998 Purdue University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Building Construction Management, James spent 18 years at Pepper Construction Company of Indiana in roles with increasing leadership responsibility including Group Leader of Industrial projects.
Bill McCarthy, who has served as Compass CEO for the past six years, will stay on at Compass, serving as Executive Chairman. In his new role, he will continue to support Belange and the Compass team in the long-term success of the company and its envisioned future.
